Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Tales by Tuck when you create an account or use our service. We have tried to keep them short and plain. By signing up, you agree to them, so please have a read.
Who we are
Tales by Tuck (“we”, “us”) is a UK-based family business that creates and delivers a personalised bedtime story for your child. You can reach us anytime at hello@talesbytuck.com.
Tales by Tuck is a trading name of Stancia Limited, registered in England and Wales (company number 16408027), registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. VAT registration number GB 513 1153 44.
Who can sign up
You must be 18 or over and the parent or guardian of any child you set up a story for. By signing up you confirm you have the authority to provide that child’s details and to agree to these terms on your household’s behalf.
What we provide
A brand-new story for your child, written around the details you give us (a first name or nickname, an age, a few interests, and anything else you choose to add), delivered by WhatsApp or email at a time you choose. Every story also arrives as a PDF for you to keep. Stories are written to be warm, calming and age-appropriate, and each one is safety-checked before it is sent.
Your free week
Your first week is free, with no card details needed. If you choose to continue, you can add your payment details and your subscription begins. If you do not continue, nothing is taken and the free week simply ends.
Prices and payment
Our plans are £9 a month, or £80 a year, each covering up to two children. Each additional child is £5 a month. All prices include UK VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Prices may change in future, but we will always tell you before any change affects you.
Referrals
Once you join, you can share your unique referral code. Each friend who signs up and starts a paid subscription with your code earns you one free month, applied as credit to your account. Codes are for personal use, cannot be exchanged for cash, and we may pause the scheme or withdraw a code if it is misused.
Cancelling
You can cancel anytime from your account, with no phone calls and no awkwardness. Your stories continue until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again after that. We do not generally give refunds for part-months, but if something has gone wrong, please email us and we will always try to put it right.
Your stories, and how you can use them
The stories we create for your child are yours to enjoy, read aloud, print and keep for your family, forever. They are for personal, non-commercial use. Please do not resell them or pass them off as your own work. The Tales by Tuck name, logo, the character of Tuck, and the website itself remain ours.
Using the service fairly
Please use Tales by Tuck only for its intended purpose, and do not attempt to misuse, copy, disrupt or resell the service, or submit details that are not yours to share. We may suspend or close an account that is used in a way that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.
A note on the stories
Our stories are generated with care and checked before sending, but they are works of imagination, not factual or educational records. Where you ask us to weave in a school topic, we aim to be accurate and age-appropriate, but stories should not be relied on as a sole source of learning.
Availability
We work hard to deliver every story reliably and on time, but we cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted, for example during maintenance or where a messaging provider is delayed. If a story is missed because of a problem on our side, let us know and we will make it right.
Our responsibility
We will always act with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable or that arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we will update the date above and let you know by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
